ACTEM is an ISTE+ASCD Partner for 2025 Ever since we can remember ACTEM has been the ISTE Affiliate for the State of Maine. The ACTEM board always thought it was important to be affiliated with a national (international) association with a similar mission. With the ISTE+ASCD merger changes occured in regards to the affiliate program. ASCD+ISTE believes it is critical to have trusted regional partners to help prepare educators to be successful in our rapidly changing world. In reviewing the legacy ASCD and legacy ISTE affiliate programs they felt that the models used by both organizations did not provide the best opportunities for collaboration, sustainability, or impact moving forward. Beginning in 2025, ASCD+ISTE launched two new programs, a partnership program and a regional ambassador program. ACTEM applied and was accepted as an ISTE+ASCD Partner for 2025. As of the partnership, ACTEM has agreed to collaborate on the following opportunities:
ISTE+ASCD, in an effort to work with Program partners in the Northeast, has allowed ACTEM to partner with Vita-Learn and New Hampshire Society for Technology in Education (“NHSTE”) to fulfill partnership obligations that we specifically committed to for 2025. Book Study The first joint effort with NHSTE & Vita-Learn is a Virtual Book study that began on Feb. 13th. The feature book is EdTech Essentials ~ 12 Strategies for Every Classroom in the Age of Al by Monica Burns. Alice Barr, a retired technology integrator from the Yarmouth Schools is the facilitator for the four sessions. The author will join the final session on April 3rd. The book study has 21 ACTEM members along with six educators form VT and eight from NH. AI Training for Educators We are currently working out the details of the AI Training with ISTE+ASCD.
